The interior looks incredible, though the same can’t be said for what’s under the hood.

Barn finds are some of the most remarkable things we can discover on this earth. To find a car that's been sitting around in a barn or garage for many years and to have not seen the light of day for some time is a truly exciting occasion. Some barn finds can be absolutely pristine, with others perhaps being less so. This incredible barn find, posted onto YouTube by Auto Archaeology, is of a 1970 Dodge Challenger Slant Six that has sat in a converted shed/barn following the falling of the headliner.

The most remarkable thing about this car isn’t really the Challenger itself or its condition. It’s the fact that the entire hood of the car is full of sticks that have been round up in by raccoons. The archaeologist says in the video that they believe that one raccoon was still living among all the sticks. The car is a Go Mango car, with a three-speed manual gearbox with a burnt orange interior, and plenty of dirt and rubbish has gathered onto the car over the years. The floor of the barn the car is in has completely deteriorated.

Looking inside the car and we can see that the interior is actually not in bad condition. The burnt orange color is still clearly visible, with the Challenger having air conditioning and an AM radio still all fitted. Remarkable, some Kleenex from the 1980s is in the back of the car. The car is in the barn as the headliner was falling on it, and it has sat in the barn ever since 1985 when it was last registered on the road. Some of the cleaned paintworks are still in good condition.

Another car was on the property and they found sticks in the hood of that as well. The minute a light was shone onto it, the raccoon jumped out and ran off, so it was clearly still in the area! There are hopefully going to be future updates of other cars on that property, although we don’t know right now if any of this will lead to a rescue attempt on the Challenger and any other cars that might be in and around the property.
